Honoring Women Veterans and Service Members

Celebrating Women Veterans and Service Members at Fenway | July 27, 2024

Ceremony, Reception, and Red Sox Game

Home Base and the Red Sox Foundation will honor the service and sacrifice of our Women Veteran and Service Members during the pre-game ceremony prior to the Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees game at Fenway.

Each year, we celebrate different groups within our military community. In past years, Vietnam Veterans, Families of the Fallen, the SOF Community, and Black Veterans have been recognized. This year, Home Base will recognize the service and sacrifice of our Women Veterans and Service Members.

Serving Women Veterans at Home Base

Women Veterans represent nearly 20% of our patient population at Home Base, yet they’ve seen the highest increase in suicide rates according to the latest VA report. In response, we offer year-round programming and two annual Intensive Clinical Programs, along with outpatient groups tailored exclusively for Women Veterans and Service Members experiencing PTSD, TBI, and other invisible wounds—all at no cost to them.

Home Base operates the nation’s premier clinical program dedicated to healing the invisible wounds of war that affect our Veterans, active Military, their Families, and Families of the Fallen. A partnership between the Red Sox Foundation and Mass General Hospital (MGH), Home Base leveraged the exceptional clinical resources of MGH, Harvard Medical School, and the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital to reimagine what is possible in Veteran care. To date, we have provided world-class care to over 35,000 individuals, all at no cost to them.
