Why the Run to Home Base?

The Run to Home Base is our most critical, annual fundraiser providing vital funds for the clinical care and support for our Veterans and their Families who are impacted by the invisible wounds of war. We’ve seen a 25% increase in Veteran suicides during the COVID pandemic. Like many people and organizations over this past year, Home Base suffered financially and we need your help now more than ever. Our revenue goal for this year’s virtual event is $2 million. Your support will help ensure we can continue to deliver our care nationally, to include Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) programs for our Special Operations Community, our intensive clinical program for families who have lost their loved one due to service or suicide, and our regional outpatient care, which now serves even more Massachusetts Veterans and their families via Telehealth. Thanks to our generous sponsors this year, 100% of every dollar raised will go directly towards the life-saving care provided by Home Base.

“Along with the exceptional care I received, and with the support of the other Veterans and active duty Service Members in my treatment cohort, I was able to look into the mirror, face many of my issues, and begin to deal with them. Home Base provided a path to healing I struggled to find on my own. Home Base gave me hope.”

– Master Chief Petty Officer (SEAL) Chris Gemmer

What is a “virtual” race?

A virtual race is a race that can be run or walked from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, at the gym, or on the track. You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself.

What you need to know about this year’s event:
